All About Us
by Sally in

Tatting, I have discovered, attracts a lot of attention.  It's small, portable and a novelty in today's world.  Almost everyone has a relative or member of their community who tatted.  Many of the tatted treasures continue to adorn clothing, linens or Christmas trees.  There were so many requests to teach people to tat that in January, 2011 I sent a notice to our local newspaper's community calendar announcing the formation of a tatting club.  We started with 4 members meeting weekly in the cold upstairs storage room of a local museum.

Now, 3 years later, we still meet weekly.  The location has changed several times through the years, but we feel as if we have found a home at the historic Monte Vista Hotel.  Our meetings are open to the public, whether for learning or demonstrations.  Our only annual dues are a tatted snowflake for the hotel's "Deck the Trees" fund raiser.  We are a sub-group of Palmetto Tatter's Guild and regularly attend tatting conferences around the country.
